The process
The zoom out of monitor transition
Step 1 Create motion tracking using Mocha. (I had to learn an entirely new way of tracking with a new program for this; Mocha is a built in plugin for After Effects).
Step 2
Paste tracking data onto the clip you want to get tracked to the screen. This took a long time as the tutorial I was using was in fact using an older version Mocha, therefore the way of pasting tracking data had changed and took a lot longer than expected.
Step 3
1. Create null object and easy-ease the key-frames for position, scale and rotation.
2. Parent all clips to the null object.
3. Add motion blur to all clips including null object for a smooth transition.
(This entire process was figuratively reversed to create the zoom into monitor transition)
Sweeping mask
Step 1Place clips onto timeline and overlay them.
Step 2
Create mask path and slowly make a mask frame by frame.
(Make sure that once you have created a shape tick the inverted box)
Extend the mask frame by frame to create a moving mask and once you have reached the end, make sure the mask covers up all of the screen.
Datamoshing
Due to my research I had found this handy plugin for After Effects that allowed me to datamosh clips with ease.
1. This will "Duplicate Deltaframes" which in short means that any moving frames will carry on with an interval and duration being the changing factors.
2. "Remove Frames" means that the harsh cut between clips will be removed and it will then overlay the first clip onto the clip under it, equalling a glitchy effect where the first clip moves as if it was the clip under it.
Hi Alex, your effects are done to a high standard, however, I think particularly with the data moshing one, they could have been planned a bit more. Conceptually this feels quite weak, but VFX and sound are good
